Rescue on the Ice

As I stopped for an early morning walk at Rogers Lakewood Park, I realized our Valparaiso Fire Department was already there.  Captured a few shots of them practicing their procedures for a rescue on the ice.

    1. Hehe! I understand that feeling completely, Jo. Our first winter here, after living in Texas most of my life, a friend took to the Lake Michigan lakeshore and it was frozen solid as far as the eye could see. I couldn’t believe it! It just didn’t seem right. 😁

  1. First, very glad this was a practice routine and you didn’t happen upon a real rescue, Irene. Great shots, the fire dept might like to see them! 🙂 Kudos to all our fire and rescue for their courageous efforts in saving our lives at any given moment.

    1. I do live in Valpo. Seems like a small world sometimes. Sorry I had not responded to this sooner. Found your comment in my spam folder. 😔
