Sunshine’s Macro Monday #40

Off to another week of Sunshine’s Macro Monday.   This time I am bringing Darth Vader to the fun.  How about you?

Darth Vader
Dokk Volgatus (aka Darth Vader)

What is macro photography?  Basically, macro photography is capturing small subjects with larger than life results. A true macro shot could be anything magnified at a ratio of 1:1 or higher.  For the purpose of this challenge, we will not be strict with the 1:1 rule.  I am more interested in people having fun looking for the details, whether it is true macro or close-up photography.  A macro lens is not a must.  Great results can be obtained with whatever zoom lens and camera is on hand.

Everyone is welcome to join in with one or more macro or close-up shots each week.  Create a pingback or add a link in the comment section below.  Mention Sunshine’s Macro Monday on your post and tag your post SMM.

  1. A great choice. It reminds me of a working model of an insect an artist friend of mine once made. You inspired me to do a Google image search for Dokk Volgatus – I was amazed at some of the things I found.

    1. I think their scary looks is what attracts me to them. 😁 Thanks for your pretty dandelion entry for this week.

    1. Thanks, Lily. I take an awful lot of photos. Sometimes the light is just right, the subject (in this case Darth Vader) stays perfectly still for just long enough for me to click, and I hold my breath at the perfect moment to get the one shot that is better than all the others. Keep having fun taking lots of photos and you’ll realize one day at how good your photos are. Okay, some because a lot of mine are still awful and the ones that get deleted instantly. 😂

  2. Brilliant shot! I’ll have to share my bottle fly shot with you some time. It’s one I take great pride in. The sun is hitting it directly, so its wings are lit up and cast brilliant shadows. LOL

      1. Me neither! I totally did not plan it this way at all. I usually schedule most of my posts in advance as I did with this one. Didn’t even get the connection until after people started commenting. 😂

  3. I keep on posting my entry but it doesn’t show. So if it does show several times, I apologise 🙄https://mywanderings.travel.blog/2020/05/05/dewdrops/

    1. No problem. The problem is not on your end. Comments are set up to be approved by me before they show up. Just my way of controlling spam on my site. 😊

      1. That would be cool but use whatever you feel the most comfortable with and still able to have fun. 😊
