Had so much fun trying out some advice on bird photography from a couple fellow bloggers. This is one result from an attempt at improving my skills – blue herons, with wings outstretched. Still have much to work on but that is part of the fun for me.

Well done! I tried to capture a blue heron just yesterday and it turned out to be a blurry streak. I’ll keep trying. You seem to have the subject well in hand!

Their long wing span and dislike of people getting to close makes herons a difficult subject. Took a lot of clicks for one decent one. π

Wonderful capture of the exactly right moment. Moving subjects are not so easy to photograph. If the wrong moment is captured there is little to see or admire. Well done Irene!

Appreciate your comment, Anne. I have been working on capturing birds in flight and this is the first decent one I have managed. π

I’m loving your bird photography, Irene! Fantastic! As long as you are having fun with it, that’s the most important part of the discovery and getting better with practice. In a few years, you will look back and see your progression get better and better! These Great Blue Herons are great & you got 2 of them flying. Looks like they are getting ready to land. π
